Perfect Day

Isn't it funny how a day can turn out better than it started? I can't say I have been having the best of days recently for various reasons but life is like that - very much a mixed bag. However, after a trying day yesterday, I settled down to watch a film with M and had a very lovely evening. M has also been feeling down recently due to big problems at work and we shared a nice bottle of wine and we both relaxed and just enjoyed being together. Not a perfect day but a perfect ending to it.

I have had perfect days though. Last year I can remember M took me to Plymouth and went to visit Tintagel Castle in Cornwall. The sun was shining, we walked and talked and I got to drove my MX5 with the top down around some great roads, surrounded by wonderful scenery. In the evening we had a lovely meal and then a walk back via Plymouth Hoe in the balmy summery evening watching the lights from boats moored off land. Perfect.

The clip below is of a song that I love and sums up days like that for me. Days where you can forget all the things that weigh you down. Days where you feel good and at peace. The video was made by the BBC for their annual 'Children in Need' appeal and won many awards and is visually very strong, colourful and entertaining. A number of celebrities in the music world took part and it is great fun trying to name them. I hope you enjoy it and it makes you think of your perfect days.

A clever video, with many strong artists. Good that Lou Reed started it too.

And Tintagel Castle has a certain cliff-top majesty too!

Here, this time, via Michele!

Very nice video! Well I always experience not so perfect days but at least I always take note on the perfect endings on each day I had.

The day you described in Cornwall did sound perfect. I loved visiting there, especially Mousehole.
The video was great, so thanks for sharing. I have to say, my perfect days more than make up for the not-so-perfect.
Visiting here from Micheles....

Babygirl, we have never spent a whole day together - other than for work......

But some of the best times I have had over the last couple of years have been with you :-)

Nothing to beat friends!

For some reason only the first 2:05 will play, Bob-Kat. I only recognized about half of the performers in that segment. But I don't watch music videos much so I know performers more by their voices than their appearance--and the segments were kinda short for me to pick out the voice.

I hope you have plenty more "perfect days", Bob-Kat.

Michele sent me to see you today.

Lovely song.Makes you remember that nothing 'spectacular' need happen to make a day a 'perfect day'.Wishing you lots of 'perfect days,bob-kat.

You've made my Sunday. The world would be a happier place if folks worked a little harder to make their days more perfect.

It's all about choice: we can allow the world to crush us. Or we can fight back and stay on the happy side of the fence. It sounds almost too simple to be true, but that's really how I choose to view my world.

Glad to see I'm not alone.

Hello, Michele sent me...

I think I'd rather have a bunch of perfect endings to days, than a single perfect day, but I've had days that approached perfection.

The day you described sounded lovely.

I love that one, BobKat! The scenery in the garden where the sun drifts over the cone-shaped trees and makes shadows is very nice.

Very nice. Thank you for sharing that video with us Bobkat.

It is always a pleasure to pop over to your blog to see what's going on in your world. You never know what you're going to get! I'm sorry to hear about the world not being so perfect for you and M at the moment, but it sounds like with one another you have someone to help smooth out the rough spots.

Hey, you motivated me to drive over to Old Town Helena again and take some more shots of those houses. I posted a few to see what you thought.

Oooo I love that song too! I just love it and I had not heard nor seen this version. I love it as it is in my favourite movie, Trainspotting. Mmmm...

Beautiful! I had not seen this before....I love the way it is put together and as you said, the images are very beautiful....I think I recognized quite a number of the Artists...but there were a few I am unfamiliar with...It is such a lovely idea, too!

Wow, that was one of the coolest things I've ever seen. It also made me realize how lucky I am - I've had many perfect days. Life is good.

Yes, I remember this. I used to work for a Homeless peoples project here in Derby at the time this was released. To hear a chorus of homeless people (many of whom were surviving against the odds) singing this song was comical and poigniant.

Thank you for sharing the video, Bob-kat. May all of your days end perfect. We may not make Mom's days perfect but she says we make them happy.
