Jousting, with a twist.

My family in Gloucestershire are still sans water, though the actual flood water has receded nicely. I had a steady stream of visitors at the weekend who all wanted to use my shower and wash their clothes. They all marvelled at the miracle of running water and toilets that flushed. We all joked about it but it really bought home how much we relied on clean running water. The water company hopes to have the water back on mid week and then it will be a couple of days before it is safe to drink. The other potential problem is with the sewage system as there is a risk of it backing up. Eugh!

As my mother has infected cellulitis it is paramount that her legs are kept clean and this is not easy without clean water. She is seeing a specialist soon so we are hoping that she will be able to help her as the antibiotics do not seem to be working. Otherwise my family are all safe and smiling in the face of adversity. Thanks again for all your well wishes :)

Meanwhile I wanted to show you this advert I found for a 4x4 off-road (SUV). When I first saw this I thought it was very amusing, and clever too. There are bits of it that are reminiscent of Monty Python's Holy Grail. Or is that just me? Anyhoo, I hope you like it!

No, it just isn't you! Heehee...

Glad things seem to be looking up. It is the small things we take for granted isn't it?

We see what you mean! Yes it does remind us of Monty Pythos's Holy Grail!

We are glad your family is able to see the humor in the situation. And we are glad you mom is still doing well. All of this stress couldn't have been good for her either.

Glad to hear the family is keeping a stiff upper lip!

Love the ad. I do see a bit of a Python twist there.

Love the video! (and I love MP!)
We were about an hour without running water and I nearly panicked...hope everything goes back to normal soon, specially because of your parents.

Glad to hear that things are getting drier over there, and that you are able to help share clean water with folks. After all, cleanliness is next to godliness, so that's pretty close to holy water you're sharing!

Visiting down the line of the comments at Michele's this morning.

Very terrific ADvert! I swear, your Adverts in the U.K are much more interesting and clever than urs here....

Gee, I hope the specialist can really help your Mum....It is hard to fathom that with her medical problems---they still do not have fresh water! It certainly does give one pause....!

I didn't know that there are no Hummingbirds in the U.K. I wonder what it is about the environment that this is true? The show they are putting on here is amazing....I must try to take some video, though I have no idea how to put that on my blog...!

I haven't seen that ad before - I don't think Toyota shows it here. Very Funny!

Still sending good vibes to your mom!

Water is just tough to be without. We so take it for granted. We experienced this several times during all those hurricanes in Florida. Not fun. Keeping good thoughts.

Yes, very MP! And amusing. They looked like they were having as much fun filming it.
