You Should Drive a DeLorean

You don't take yourself too seriously, and you prefer a fun, unusual car... like this Back to the Future gem!

I GOT MY CAR BACK!

Yay! I suddenly got a phone call saying my car was ready for delivery and could they bring it round immediately. It's sad I know, but I was so pleased to see my little red road racer, especially after the insurance company tried to write it off! All the locks are changed and they fitted a new immobiliser. What I don't quite get though is why they didn't use the hole left in the dashboard by the old immobilser rather than drilling a new hole? Nothing it seems is simple these days. In case you were wondering, I am the extremely proud owner of a Mazda MX5 or Miata as they are known in the US. I LOVE this car. It isn't the fastest on the road but it accelerates and corners well and with the top down on a sunny day it is pure fun! In celebration of getting my car back I took the little quiz above (hey, I know how to live!). I quite like the answer, it definitely sums me up, and 'Back to the Future' is a film I remember fondly.

Anyway, I am still up to my ears in study as work has been demanding lately too. It's gonna be a loooong weekend people. As before, I will drop by and visit when I can (after all a girl needs a break from the fun essay writing sometimes!). Thanks for all your good thoughts and please keep them coming, I'm not out of the woods yet and your kind comments put a smile on my face :-)

Life is always just a bit more difficult without wheels. At least here in our area. Good luck with your work this weekend.

I took it and got a Beamer.
I've already had one, and they're not "all that and a bag of chips."

Glad to hear your life is feeling more normal!

I know you are very happy to have your Miata back. I'd love to have a convertible, if I didn't need a van for business. Maybe someday....

Great news, Bob!

When I first saw Back to the Future, I wanted a DeLorean so bad.

My husband's cousin's wife (ya like you care!) has a RED Miata and she loves it. She puts it in the garage in the winter here. They have a Miata club and they go on drives together with all the other Miata owners.

Glad you got it back!

It seems like just a couple months ago that we had to say goodbye to my wife's neon but we had been thinking about getting a bigger car anyway. That was a year ago and we have enjoyed the new car very much. My wife still gets a little sad when she sees another one on the road especially if it's purple too.

We love our Camry but certain cars leave a lasting memory. Glad you still have yours to cherish.

Glad to hear the car is back. My car doesnt have a lid to take down, so whenever I can scrounge the 206cc which has a tin roof that hides in the boot, then I'm out there with it.

I'll be cycling tomorrow, which is also great open air wheely fun.

Happy scribing.

So happy you got your car back my dear....And do I understand how wonderful that is to just be able to get in your dear wonderful Mazda Miata and spin around town!

It must feel so good to have your Miata all back and fit! I'm so glad for you! Back in my BS-paper days I drove the equivalent of the Miata--a 356 Porsche roadster--not all that fast, but cute and great for shopping in Beverly Hills--which was a charming village then! (lol) Hubby #1 sawed the top bows so he could carry more "stuff" behind the seats. When I sued for divorce, the incredulous judge asked him, "You-you took a hack saw to a Porsche? " "Well, your honor", he stammered, "I needed a place to put--" The gavel came down with a bang. "I find irreconcilable differences exist. Divorce granted! Petitioner will retain ownership of vehicle." I still have "Ferry" the Porsche, but he only goes out to rallys.

By the way, a Delorean you do not want!!!! I'll not soak up bandwith counting the ways! Very pretty--but---but--but---but---

Hang in there with the paper--and remember how huch easier it is with your computer and the net!!!

oh, and check out old old lady's account of the visit she received from one of your "relatives"
