Merry Christmas!

My Christmas Tree (Dec 2009)

I love Christmas. I always have. I believe it's because I have such good memories of Christmas as a child. I love the good old Christmas songs, carol singing, trimming the tree, giving cards and presents (note the skating nun wrapping paper !)and receiving them too and just the whole warm feeling I get this time of year. I love the sight of brightly wrapped presents under the glow of the lights from the Christmas tree. I just love Christmas.

Of course, Christmas is not really Christmas without an appearance from Santa, and mine takes a well earned rest under the tree.

My tree is trimmed with fruits in reds and gold with garlands of berries and ivy. If you look closely you will also spot the odd glittery star and some birds. In fact a white dove of peace sits atop my tree. (A wider view of my tree cna be seen on my photo blog).

One of my favourite things is to sit with only the lights from the tree and mantle piece on with a nice glass of wine or port and watch a film or read. In fact that is exactly what I am going to do next this Christmas Eve. I've even bought some Belgian chocolates as a treat.

And so as I take up my glass I make a toast to all my wonderful blog friends who lift my spirits when it is flagging and make me smile. Goodwill and peace to you all and wishing you a very Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays.

Merry Christmas BK!!!! I sit here at the computer on Christmas Eve (8:52 pm my time - much later your time) and think of how you spent your evening. I hope you got the opportunity to sit by the light of the tree, drinking your glass of wine and just enjoying the season. Merry Christmas - you're in the thoughts of your blogger friend here in the deep south of the US. God bless!

I love the tree light also. Got home from my brothers house around 2AM and my tree (and a bit of warm potion) was waiting for me

along with 2 cats starved for attention ;)

today is Siren's birthday so it is double the fun. Love to watch him open presents

I hope you spend a lot of peaceful, happy time sitting by the tree with very old port and lots of happy thoughts for 2009.

It will be a good year, I can feel it in my bones :)

Hope you had a lovely day, my darling :-)
I love your tree - I just sort of throw decorations at mine...

Enjoy the book - yet again another one that made me laugh when I just looked into it!

btw - our tree is still standing, although William has tried chewing on the lights and tinsel!

Lovely. Just lovely. You remind me of a time I used to put up a tree also and how special it felt. I didn't miss it this year, but you're inspiring me to maybe put in a little bit of effort next year. I just love the scent of a real tree, needles on the floor and all! I'm glad to hear you're able to have some relaxing times and put you're worries behind for a little while. I'll be sending your book within the next few days. Don't know if it will make it there in time to sit under the tree for a bit though. I guess it depends on how long you keep your tree up!

xx Best wishes

I love that pointed bow and the golden bird. I love to gaze at my tree too and feel the sparkle of the season.

I'm meet and greet caroling from Net Chick's.

Hi there, bunny - NetChick sent me back to see your beautiful tree :-)

It's probably tempting fate to say this now, but our tree is still standing...mostly unmolested.

Some lovely pictures and its good to have some traditions amongst the decorations on the tree.

Happiness for the year ahead!

I know that this is quite late, but I wanted to say these are LOVELY photos of your tree. I'm slowly getting "caught up" on my daily blog reading. Once we are fully in our home, it will be easier, as all my bookmarked (RSS-fed) blogs are on our home computer...I neglected to import those to my new laptop. Thank you for sharing these.
