I heart my Macbook

I had had enough. It had let me down for the last time and so I traded it in for a better model. Sleeker, whiter, faster, cooler and most importantly it worked. Yep, I traded my Windows based laptop in for a Macbook and I couldn't be happier with my decision. In fact, I wonder why I didn't do it earlier.

My laptop with Vista has been the root of all my frustration, annoyance and the cause of my need for anger management. The number of times I have just wanted to chuck the darn thing out of the window! Vista is just too slow and buggy. Fun little things I had to deal with were; the cursor regularly freezing, the screen not coming back after snoozing and the keypad not working after snoozing along with a multitude of other little annoyances. I thought about re-installing XP and getting a bigger battery but in the end I realised I wanted something quicker, more reliable and Macbooks also have iPhoto which is a much better system for dealing with digital photos IMHO. It's 13" screen has great clarity and colour and it's the right size for my lap (whereas my other laptop was a little large). The battery lasts for over 3 hours and I love it.

I can feel my stress levels decreasing already and using my computer is a pleasant experience. Time to take a relaxing moment with a cup of tea and visit some blog friends methinks! Afterall, I won't be going out much for the next few days with this Siberian weather front bringing icy temperatures and snow.

Oh yes, I *heart* my MacBook too. When you first get one (ours is now 2 years old, practically to the day!) you wonder how you ever survived without one! Easy to use, no uploading discs etc., when you buy new things such as a camera. Comes already loaded with editing devices, iTunes, www gear....

Lucky you
well, fortunate You for choosing so wisely for your computer needs
I am glad for ALL your recent victories. Somehow Bill gates will get along without your contribution. Ya think? hehe
Happy Sunday, God is on His throne.

I'm a PC person but not such a fan with Vista. The OS takes a lot of resources for it to run. It seems to me that Microsoft tried a little too hard when they made it.

Netchick sent me.

Ooh. Looks good!

We are mac here at rashbre central. It just works. I suppose I should do a post one day about the few labour saving add-on programs for a mac, most of which are a few dollars.

Enjoy.

Welcome to the Mac club. I converted from PCs five years ago and I'll never go back. Not only are they far more reliable, they are faster, better designed and Apple customer service is out of this world - head and shoulders above the rest. I could go on and on, but I'm preaching to the choir.

Beware the Mac haters and pity them, for they know not.

Always been curious about Macs ... But never actually gone for one. They've usually been a little expensive for me.

It looks an impressive little beastie - judging by the Apple site all the hardware things I'd look for are all present. It actually looks far more connectable than my new laptop :-)

Me like :-) Me need promotion to afford one :-( Wonder if its webcam makes noses look as bent as mine does :-)

PS No real serious snow yet but plenty of ice. The delivery boy who went to the flats earlier nearly ended up wearing the pizza he was carrying !

I heard that microsoft is pulling vista out of the market. Anyways, I could use one of these things as well - but don't want to spend the money right now.

BTW, you have been tagged - do hope that you play along :)

Congrats on the new toy BK....Mac is cool. I got a Dell laptop this time around but one of these days I'll probably make the switch to Mac.

As my wife's laptop - a 4-year-old XP-running HP - is slowly nearing the end of its life, we've begun discussing a replacement strategy.

Either I get a MacBook and cascade my current (really solid) HP business laptop to her, or she gets a Mac Mini. Either way, the slow transition of our house into an Apple haven is well underway. Our son has an iMac, and we all adore it. Every word you've said here rings very strongly. I'm so glad you're enjoying the transition!

Stay warm! We're going back into the deep freeze as well. I hope it ends by July!

More and more people seem to be jumping over to Apple products now, especially macs. I use one at work (as well as a PC!).

2GB of RAM is needed really to cope with Vista. I've not had any notable problems (just wait now I've said that!).

Oh My Dear....I'm verty Happy for you! It is interestimg about Vista....I have never heard any "user" from the blog world who was happy with it. And now....Microsoft is CHUCKING it! My "computer" wizard kept telling me Vista was GREAT....Well, he was full of crap!
I have wondered about switching to Mac but I am so afraid the learning curve would be too difficult for me now.....I know it is better for EVERYTHING---Musix, Pictures, Film things, etc...
So, I will be very interested in what more you have to say as time goes on....!
CONGRATULATIONS, my dear! And Happy Computering To You!

Vista will not be dropped though the 'upgraded' version will have a new name to hide the shame (Currently Windows 7). Microsoft need to shift people away from XP so to get them tied in with new Microsoft applications and technology. Hmm. I think we all know about Microsoft technology.

Uh, I'm a little bit late with my comment here, but just wanted to congratulate you and embrace you as a fellow enlightened Mac user. I've never used anything else myself as am comfortable in this Mac world where everything is well made but above all—user friendly. If you haven't done so already, do seriously consider getting the AppleCare package. The support you get from Apple truly is exceptional.
