So, it's the weekend again... which is odd as the last one has only just finished. Or at least it feels that way as this week has been so busy and has flown past. I have been so tired in the evening that I haven't been online much and didn't even manage to muster up enough energy to make pancakes on Shrove Tuesday. Anyway, it's Friday at last and so far I appear to have been glued to the sofa. It's just so comfy and I'm sooooo tired. I can just about muster up enough energy to give anyone that may be reading this and is interested a small window into my week:
- Dessie, my bearded dragon is hardly eating so I took her to the vet. It appears the cold snap we had has meant that she is partially brummating (kind of like hibernating without the deep long sleep). I have to give her vitamin baths and take some steps to help her think it's spring.
- The vet did say Dessie is a beautiful beardie, which of course she is. The markings on her back are gorgeous! I will have to take some photos.
- Bob the cat saw to it that I did not get a good nights sleep on Wednesday and that I was woken up on Thursday in the wee hours. I love him very much but was quite willing to throttle him. he has taken to yelling at the top of his lungs from time to time. Not so bad in the day, but around 3am it is not so welcome. Or at 4am.
- Work has been very busy. I launched a new initiative at work which is a 'surgery' where project teams can come and get advice on certain issues. I got great feedback from those that attended.
- I also ended up compiling a report at short notice, but made the deadline.
- Today, I ended up helping the boss map out our tasks and outputs against our customers as part of the input to our team restructuring. Yet another last minute request. It's a time of great change.
- Yesterday I was so tired I had take away Chinese food as I couldn't face cooking.
- I also fell asleep on the sofa and woke up an hour later with Dessie asleep on my neck and Bob asleep on my hip.
- I seem to be tired a lot these days and wonder if it has something to do with my recent thyroid lobectomy.
- I am off tomorrow to a 'Living History' fair. It's a market where you can buy traditional leather, glass and wood craft items as well as traditional clothing and assorted traditional weapons for history re-enactors. There is usually a wonderful jewellery stand there too.
- I am also going to buy a new fish this weekend as my poor male Apistogramma Cacatuoides suddenly took ill and died recently. I tried treating the tank but without any obvious outward signs of illness it was hard to know what to do. The other fish are fine happily.
- I lost a Follower from my blog. I know who it was and I think I know what it relates to but I cannot for the life of me think why. I always respect other people's view even if I have a different one and treat my blog friends with the respect they deserve so I am at a complete loss over this. Perhaps I just wasn't interesting enough?
- I badly need a break so I am hopefully going to be booking a short break away this weekend for March. More on that once it's booked.

Sounds like you had a crazy week. Definitely should take some time to relax this weekend!
Here via Tanya. She said hi too.
I know what you mean ! Between the 3 days of testing last week and the trip to my parents and back last weekend, I'm beat ! Including having a little half hour sleep on the sofa in front of the cricket earlier ...
I raided the Chinese earlier this week too - but that was mainly due to not wanting to wash up :-) And the Tesco pancakes will probably be breakfast tomorrow ...
I've been curious about the Follower thing - but will need to do a long overdue update of my blog template before implementing it. However, my Zombie-Dwagon will still be following here :-)
Hope you find an acceptable post-lobectomy balance soon that gives you more energy. Maybe a chance for some good, long sleeps this weekend and a bit of hibernation in our houses will do us some good :-)
(PS Gotta do the 2 memes soon !)
PS2 Thanks for the comment ! :-) Must sneak that message over to Miss AB's friend on Monday - was too scared to send it today.
you did so well for a tired, over worked, cat harassed person.
good post. I feel all up to date.
yes - being a follower of your blog is the way to go.
Your tiredness may have to do with whatever thyroid meds you are on (assuming you are on them), as they take a bit of tweaking to get the right dosage.
Luckily, my cats have not discovered that they can meow at night. They'll rue the day they find out they can - they will be put into the garage for the remainder of the night!
Don't worry about losing a follower; it's his/her loss. You are always interesting!
Weeks pass us by, sometimes nothing happens and other weeks it is full-on. Other times we need to sit back and view our snippets. Makes life interesting.
I have days/weeks too where I am tired. Just sleep when your body tells you to - maybe stock up on some multi-vitamins too. You could be lacking something. But remembering too that it is winter and you;ve had a mighty cold one in the UK this year. Probably doesn't help.
I was going to ask if they put you on any kind of thyroid meds...it does sound like you're experiencing some "hypo" symptoms. (9 years of hypothyroidism in my back pocket).
I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your Follower. This is your blog, and it's for you to speak your mind. There are blogs that I follow in which I RARELY agree with what is written...but it gives me a unique perspective on things I may otherwise overlook...and it moves me from my box of complacency.
I haven't mailed your prize yet; I had misplaced it in my many cupboards and just found it yesterday. Will try to get to the post office on Monday, barring any snow. We are expecting 1-3 inches here...this is the SOUTH, it shouldn't snow!
Sounds like a busy week! Mika likes to be "vocal" after everyone has gone to bed, but thankfully knows I will not get up before 6am, so he bothers everyone else before then :)
Sorry you are feeling so exhausted, my dear....Maybe it does have to do with your Thyroid...Did they start you on any kind of Thyroid Meds...like Synthroid(?) or something like that? Your little "dragon" guy sounds so very dear...I love the image of you lying on the couch with the two of your sweethearts...!
Do take good care, my dear....!
I don't understand The Follower thing at all. I am not even sure what it is! I had some and now I have less., and have no idea whu....and I don't know how to even do all that....In fact I seem to be very behind on Bloggers upgrades of sorts....It is all beyond me these days....lol!
I know that blitzed out after busy week feeling. Me too this week. Down time is good. decompression starting now.
Ooh you have reminded me about pancakes though...
and Hiya today NetChick sent me!
I'm not up to visiting via NetChick this weekend. It's been a horrid week.
Do raise the issue of the exhaustion. I mean, yes, your body needs to rest to heal and healing can take awhile, but you sound a little out of whack still. Are you doing too much, maybe?
Take care of yourself, darling. I want to hear more good stuff like your surgery idea!!!
That is one sleepy day, Bobkat!
\NetChick sent me here.
I know you've been low lately, but have been struggling with much the same problem....
In fact, Pete noticed I had been very quiet lately and he was a bit concerned.
February is a horrible month and it seems a lifetime to longer days and warmer weather.
I may be a bit grumpy, but am always here, babes :-)
cq
You should definitely have your thyroid levels checked post-surgery...that, and all the excess work projects, have to be the cause of your exhaustion. I wish you had a photo of the bearded dragon sleeping on your neck! :-)
it was a happy weekend, but If I eat one more piece of mom's birthday cake I will break the top button on my jeans
That is quite the week, I am tired after reading it lol...Will do u good to get away for a weekend as u say, I look forward to knowing where it will be lol.
Thank you so much for following, Bob-kat!! I hope you're feeling better.
I also fell asleep on the sofa and woke up an hour later with Dessie asleep on my neck and Bob asleep on my hip. - that is adorable :)
Siren has taking to wailing in the middle of the night too! perhaps he and Bob are communicating?
A lof of what you've been doing at work sounds interesting
just make sure to take care of yourself
Thanks for your sweet comment...I LOVE those Birds and I had a good time seeing them all over again....I may just go through a lot of my Photo Files and post more stuff....!
I hope you got some "rest" my dear and I also hope you had a lovely weekend....!
No wonder you are tired... hope the weekend was a relaxed one.
Maybe the ex-follower is now using a reader...that's what I do!
That picture is what I feel everyday..
