Sun worshipper
The last weekend in the UK was sunny and although this time of the year there is a distinct chill in the air, Bob the cat was determined to catch whatever rays he could. He bothered me with constant meows, first they resembled gentle requests and then got louder and more indignant until the door was opened. He shot out like a cork from a champagne bottle and busied himself with his rounds, making sure everything was where he had left it. With this important business taken care of he then carefully selected a sunny spot under a large shrub and settled down to absorb just as much sun as he could.
After a while I went outside and he was still there. When I touched his belly, it felt soft and incredibly warm from the sun, and he gently complained as I cast a shadow over him. I took a few photo's of him stretched out contentedly but I really liked the one I have posted above of Bob on the prowl. Sometimes, a cat has just gotta make sure everything is okay before he can stretch out, relax and catch those rays.

I wish my cat would behave like that outside. Instead, he eats grass until he throws up and then gets scared of the idea of being outside, panics, hisses at me when I try to pick him up, and usually runs under the deck, unless I can catch him before he does.
And yes, that's with him on a leash.
*sigh*
He's so pretty. My cats lie belly up in the sun, and their black fur is so hot to the touch it almost burns my hand. I don't know how they stand it - but they do.
What a pretty kitty! I have two, but they don't go outside. There are too many rough-and-tumble strays around our house.
What great pictures of Bob....You describe it all so wonderfully---I can see it all, including you touching his warm belly and his bit of noise to let you know you are casting a shadow....A lovely post about a lovely vat! Give him some hugs for me and you take a couple for yourself, too!
Aw, my little mate Bob :-)
Isn't he just the handsomest boy (except for Charlie - *of course*!).
If I let mine out they run away, being so close to the countryside. Mine are absolutely housecats - except Charlie who will walk with a leash now.

My dad always thought that cat's belong outside. Yours looks quite content.
Cheers.
I thought he was the one in your avatar, but I guess Bob is b/w!!
lovely pictures, I love this time of the year when I myself can actually sit under the sun and it is pleasant, not hot...
Great photos of Bob the cat :) Cats certainly do love the sun, although my 2 are currently loving the radiators!
A cat's gotta do what a cat's gotta do..sadly I think you left out the photo of you lying in the sun next to him! :-)
What a sweet face.
Adorable.

i love your cat, if you ever need a sitter....
Sometimes you just need to catch all the sunshine you can get! And I love the way bob the cat reminded all of us, that we all have a plcae under the sun!
He looks sooooooooo relaxed.
*gee*
A cat's life is a hard one! How dare you cast shadow on him!!
Came back to say HI and tell you I love Bob's "bell" around his neck. Very elegant...!
Hope things are a bit better, my dear....Sweetie sens Purrrrs, too!
Hello! Michelle sent me...
Ah...cats have it so easy...being able to lay around in the sun!! Lucky thing! I loved your pictures :)
Michele sent me today, although I don't feel like I'm a stranger...you're in my Google Reader! :)
What a lucky cat. Playing in the sun and enjoy sunshine sounds like an awesome thing to do right now. Too bad I'm stuck inside for the next 8 hours.
Michele sent me here.
Bobkat,
thanks for visiting & your kind words. :)
Bob the cat looks so happy and content - that's a great life.
Saw you at Michele's. So I dropped by. For more sunshine :)
Your cat is so cute- we have 3 & all of them are outdoor fans too.
Michele sent me over an hour ago but I had to go get a sick child at school- sorry I'm late!
Awesome pictures and a great blog!
Congrats!
Michele sent me and I will be back!
We have a hot tub in our back patio area and all our dogs and our cat go out there and lay on it's brown cover. It is always warm from the sun and they all lay out there until their it seems their very bones are warm.
I'd love to scratch between this guy's ears. Our cat, Sassy, loves that.
