Oh! Christmas Tree

I always love Christmas and so always look forward to putting my tree up. I don't rush though and put it up as soon as December arrives. Part of the whole experience is the anticipation of Christmas, of looking forward to putting the tree up and decorating. It feels more special if it is up for a just three or so weeks, and it comes down on the twelfth day of Christmas.

I decorate my tree with fruit and birds in hues of gold and red. I have ivy and berry garlands entwined around the tree and a white dove sits on top. Underneath I have a collection of little chaps who look like a bunch of carol singers.

I love to sit and watch films, or use my laptop by the Christmas tree lights and some candles. It feels cosy which is just what is required with the freezing temperatures we've been experiencing here lately. I have watched quite a few Christmas films in the run up to Christmas including, Scrooged, White Christmas, Miracle on 34th Street (original B&W), Die Hard 1&2, Gremlins, While You Were Sleeping, The Holiday, Elf and Love Actually. Holiday Inn, A Christmas Carol (B&W) and Nightmare Before Christmas to go.

On a separate note, my new job is going really well, and after two weeks I'm starting to feel a little more comfortable even the learning curve is more like a learning climb! I'm being given extra responsibility already and my boss seems to like my ideas. That has to be good. Other than that I am nearly ready for Christmas, just a few presents to wrap and the turkey to get along with a few other bits and pieces. The sprouts have been on since last week so they should be cooked in time, LoL!

Oh your tree is always Soooo Very Beautiful....I wish I could see it "in person". It looks extra special this year, at least it does to me. All the love you feel about the Holiday and the Beauty of decorating shows in your care and Artistry of your Tree! It is really gorgeous!
I love that you watch all these Christmas Films...I LOVE the Original B&W "Miracle On 34th Street"....one of my favorite Christmas Films....I am also partial to "It's A Wondedrful Life"..again, the Original B&W, with Jimmy Stewart and Donna Reed...It is such a sweet inspirational film in every way....! The deeper meaning of how each person's life matters is so very touching.

I'm so happy for you, dear B-K, that the new job is working out well....That has to be such a relief for you!

Oh, BTW: How do your little Kitty's like the Christmas Tree?
And I wanted you to know your card got here yesterday!!! Hooray, and Thank You So Much. My Calendar is very very late this year---I don't even have it yet...I'll let you know when it is at least in my hands...lol!

Your tree is beautiful! I hope the new kitties aren't enjoying it too much, if you know what I mean. All those sparklies must be a big temptation to kitten eyes!

I can only hope to have a tree which looks like that sometime in my life. For now, I must deal with one decorated by the kids which, alas, tends to be more abominable every year. This year in fact, the youngest added three final ornaments contrary to my counsel toward the front of the tree which caused it to reach its proverbial "tipping point."

Oy.

Cheers, dear.

I still need to put my tree up ... first step : clear enough space to let it fit :-)

Liking your tree and that you have some traditions (like the carol singers) - its good to do that. We have various items from 'yesteryear' that make it to the tree dex. There's even inspections from passing rels to make sure tat certain items are in place.

Best for the season and pleased that the new job is looking good.

Hey there BK!

Your pics, as usual, are priceless! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and I wish you all the best in the coming year. I have been seriously bogged down in my grad work, but I wanted to stop by a few of my old blog-friends sites to say that my life is better with you in it!

My New Years resolution is to be a more active (and proactive) blogger.

See you soon!

Mike
