Random Stuff

It's been a hell of a week. I managed to complete my final Masters Degree paper at 12:10am on Wednesday night and since then I have been trying to cram a weeks work into two days. Sleep, apparently is for wusses... Anyway, here are some random things from my week:

  • My last ever paper for my MBA marks the end of 5 years study.
  • When I finished it I didn't really feel anything except tired.
  • It's starting to sink in now that, as long as I have passed this last hurdle, I have no more studying to do. For now.
  • I have been attempting to write my own appraisal at work as my boss is still away on sick leave. It's kind of like a self-licking lollipop.
  • I hate giving myself feedback. It is really hard not to underplay your achievements and then to overcompensate for this!
  • I looked round my house and realised what tip it has become recently. At least I will have time to clear up now!
  • I got cut up three times during a 5 minute car journey today.
  • I also spotted a car with the following sign in the rear window; "The lights are on but there is nobody in". This did not instill confidence in their driving!!!
  • They were having a clear out of wine at the local supermarket. Two bottles mysteriously jumped into my basket. I only went in for some milk.
  • I watched '50 First Dates' last night as I needed to unwind. I had forgotten what a truly enjoyable lighthearted film it was. I needed a laugh.
  • I am looking forward to a weekend that involves no studying!

whenever I go into a store for one or two things, I always leave with a cartful...everything seems to want to jump into my cart!

I love 50 First Dates...a great "unwind" movie, you're absolutely correct. I do hope that you enjoyed one of those "jumpers" whilst watching!

One of the other bad things about the performance reporting is the amount of space that we have available ... It kinda taunts you.

The limit's 1350 characters but the gap there could fit in double that. I ended up rewriting mine in compressed form that makes me look illiterate ;-) But at least it has all parts of my evidence summarised.

PS Last Tesco's trip, I didn't come out with wine (I rarely have booze) but somehow 3 boxes of popcorn escaped via my bags. Will have to keep a sharper eye out next time.

Congratulations!!! I finished my master's 2 weeks before I had my second daughter. so I had time to unwind for 2 weeks before the real chaos began :)

Congrats.

"Self licking lollipop" is a good image. I'm probably going to steal that.

Cheers.

BRAVO to you for finishing, dear Bob-Kat! What ab accomplishment, my dear....! Maybe yiu will feel the pleasure of being finished when you are a bit more rested....

I smiled at those rwo bottles of wine leaping into your cart...lol....How does that happen, pray tell?

Having to critique yourself cpuld make ome Schizoid....(If there is such a woes...) It's really not fair that you have to do this...Oh well, what are you going to do...!

I don't think I have ever seen 50 First Dates, but I hate to admit that I am at an age where a lot of fllms names are blebding into each other.....!

Hope you have a WONDERFUL Sunday, dear B-K!

Congrats on finishing the Master's, babe! I know how you feel -- it wasn't until I'd passed my oral exam that I felt like I'd accomplished something.

My husband just took his counseling licensure test this weekend. A big weight has been lifted! Celebrate your accomplishment thus far. Congrats from me and Michele.

We did have a hoot at 50 First Dates, didn't we? Do you still simultaneously laugh and cry at that Beach Boys song? I do - and it still hurts.... :-)

Did you notice on the report form you only get 1350 characters to expound your greatness, but 1675 to appeal your LM's comments?? Something very wrong there.

If you read down a little on my blog, you'll see how I did on my report.

you know..one day i might visit you at your lovely blog here and read the the words.."Went sword fighting..learned to pole dance..drank lots of wine.." without mention of study. How you must dream of a time when your studying is done?..and that boss of yours..surely he must know that you are such a conscientious worker that you are bound to be modest and downplay your achievements in your appraisal..we English are particularly good at that. So, heartfelt wishes to you and that you allow many more bottles to 'Escape' with you.

Hey I *always* go to the supermarket to buy one or two things and sometimes I have walked out with a whole week of groceries! I hate it when that happens.

I hope you enjoyed your weekend and truly relaxed. I am positive you deserved the right to do nothing.

keep me out of stores.
I love that movie
and usually Adam Sandler's skills

My house gets like a dumpster
and then magically, gets clean!
Nothing like walking in just after the cleaning crew has finished!

Congratulations on the completion of that last project. I wonder if when the tiredness goes away if a feeling of emptiness will take its place. That is the way I always felt at the end of a big project or term completion.
