Down but not out

Yep, that's right I'm down but not out as I am recuperating after surgery so I'm afraid there won't be new pics of my travels for a short while. I am currently sofa bound as I am finding it difficult to get around and I'm not allowed to drive. I suspect that I will get bored long before I am better though! Anyway, I am getting better every day so I hope to be up and about again soon and you can be sure that I will take my camera with me when I go.

Meanwhile I am indulging another interest of mine which is films. I am involved in a small indepenent film company called Spearhead Films where I am the Production Manager but at the moment I am constrained to watching films. As ever when I am not feeling 100% I like to watch some old favourites and 'Grounhog Day' has recently been viewed. I'm thinking of watching 'Leap of Faith' next and then I might just watch 'Lord of the Rings'. I have a huge collection so sometimes it can be difficult to choose.

Anyway, if you drop by, say hello and let me know you have been by and perhaps let me know what your favourite film is?

hmm.......

Any guesses???

Actually, you would probably be wrong..... :-)

I have lots and lots of 'favourite films', but the one that I treasure is a video of a film shown on TV (I've looked for it on video or DVD, but they're not releasing it.) A privately financed true story film about two men with AIDS, one heterosexual and one homosexual, sharing a flat in a hospice.
Eric Stoltz and Randy Quaid are mind-blowingly awesome in this harsh, touching yet sometimes humorous film.
All the more touching when you know that the film was financed by one of the men's real-life families.

Get well soon, Bobkat! I'll be thinking of you.

I have a lot of favorite films, but the ones that came to mind were The Jacket, Amelia, all of the Lord of the Rings, The Matrix trilogy, and Crash. I am sure I have others, but I can't think of them right now!

Hi my dear...
I hope you are recovering very nicely and that each day brings more healing anmd strength, too.

I am much better than I was...not quite 100% But I can see the light at the end of the tunnel...

Movies! There are so very many that I really love and for different reasons. We have this great movie channel here called Turner Classic Movies...they specialize in all the old Studio films, lots of Black & White, and the era of those Great Great stars like Tracy & Hepburn. Just today I watched "Adams Rib"...it made me laugh out loud! (Good Medicine that!) These people were superb. The script was so sophisticated and literate...WONDERFUL!
"To Kill A Mocking Bird"...a very very great film...Gregory Peck...everyone in it is superb....
Well, I could go on and on....more in the last 15 years..."Pretty Woman" and "Notting Hill" LOVE both those films and the people in them...

Keep getting better, my dear.

Hope you are feeling your old self soon, Bobkat. We found you from a message you left Zeus. You cats are kind of interesting.

We don't watch too many movies but Mom likes the older ones. Some of them were even filmed before she was born! (That is old!)

Wishing you a speedy recovery!!! I love films, but I like to see them in an old movie theatre, that's the best. I don't have favorite films...but tonight I could watch a Frank Capra film. Love them. Or a Fellini film... Or The Lake House!(Keanu Reeves), it is the last one I have seen and loved it too!

Hope you are recouping nicely, my dear....Have you ever seen "Substabce Of Fire"? It's a small movie but a really good one. Ron Rifkin of "Alias" fame is the main character..he is BRILLIANT! Sarah Jessoca Parker is his daughter....she is wonderful, too...A very very interesting film....Good one for a rainy afternoon! Feel better soon.
