I was hoping to share some more NYC pics with you but I'm afraid my head is still buried in the books as I have an assignment to complete before Christmas!
Anyway, while I was in New York I visited the Metropolitan Museum which was an amazing place. I have more photos to share sometime but while I was there I was looking at some of the magnificent works of art they have by such artists as Picasso and Monet when I entered one of the rooms where a young girl was sat with her laptop looking one of the pictures. I had to take a picture as it was a prime example of life imitating art, albeit in a more modern manner! Take a look at the pic below and you'll see what I mean!
I don't think she was aware that she looked like a mirror image of the girl in the picture bought forward in time and what struck me was that it looked like they were watching each other. The art student with her laptop looking back at the past and the girl in the picture looking through at us from her time as if the frame was a window.

Love This!!
I took two pictures in the Tate that had children lying on the floor looking at the Art that was hanging...I would have taken more, but the guard came over and said I wasn't supposed to be taking ANY pictures! So, I love that you got this one which as you said is like a mirror image....
I'll have to post mine...!
I love that you caught her in the photo! It is definitely art imitating life - or vice-versa.
Excellent!!! so glad you had your camera with you and that they let you use it!!!
That's so cool - what a neat observation!
Great photo. I love the time dimension.
It really does look as if they are looking at each other
I forgot to say, Michele sent me
Here from Michele.
That is a wonderful picture.
We were there at the height of the heat wave last summer so the cool of the art museum was wonderful. I only wish they had more benches to sit on. In the art museums of Florence there are large benches everywhere that just invite you to "sit, look, think, enjoy, stay a spell." At the Ufizzi we sat in the Boticelli room for an hour.
Wow...the picture, while I love it like the others, gives me goosebumps too...

My deepest apologies. Can you tell blogger went insane while I was trying to leave a comment!!
Wonderful 'capturing the moment' image. Very clever. Gotta love art galleries that display wonderful works! (I actually named my daughter Monet after the great artist hmself!)
Sounds as if you really enjoyed your recent NY trip - I'm very jealous...
Great blog.
I'll be back... (I'm here via Michele today!)
I am loving all of your photos. I was in NY about 30 yrs ago so this has been a wonderful refresher. Good luck on your project.
